Last month, Dr. Mark Ereth – SecureAire’s Chief Medical Officer and a Mayo Clinic Emeritus Professor – presented at the 2022 Healthy Buildings Conference on a new scientific study about airborne pathogens in small spaces, specifically elevators. The study, conducted by Henderson Building Solutions, LLC finds that ACTIVE Particle Control™ is highly effective at reducing airborne contaminants without producing within operating elevator cabins. This is especially important to reduce the risk of disease transmission in closed settings where social distancing is not possible.
Elevators are one of the most common closed settings. In fact, each of the 1.03 million elevators in the U.S. moves an average of 20,000 people per year, according to the National Elevator Industry. However, most elevators have unsophisticated air ventilation – only fans, filters, and/or vents – and no air purification.
